Hello Hidden Valley Neighbors,
I am organizing another winter clothing drive for the needy and homeless in Reno/Sparks. All donations will be taken to the Good Shepherd Clothing Closet located next to the shelters on 4th and Record Streets. Items are given to those in need by way of a voucher system.
Any of the following items will be greatly appreciated: coats, scarves, pants, underwear-(clean/used is perfectly acceptable), tee shirts, socks, sweatshirts, sweatpants, jeans, hats, gloves, shoes, boots and sleeping bags.
According to the Good Shepherd, the most needed items are MEN’S CLOTHING or FOOTWEAR OF ANY KIND.
Any bedding/towels can be used. Also needed are personal hygiene items such as shampoo, soap, deodorant, razors, hair brushes/combs, toothpaste or toothbrushes or feminine hygiene products. The Dollar Store is a good source for reasonably priced sundry items. All those cosmetic samples and small hotel toiletries are great.
Homeless people need a place to keep their personal items since they often don’t have dressers or closets. Therefore, I am also accepting any type of suitcase, backpack, large purse, tote bag, sports bag or briefcase — anything that can use to keep their personal belongings organized.
My phone is 857-1310 and my address is 5340 Cypress Point Drive. (Directions: take Hidden Valley Drive south from Mira Loma – first left on Carnoustie and right on Cypress Point.)
Please leave whatever you can donate on my front porch anytime between November 15 and December 15th. All donations will be taken to Good Shepherd.
Hidden Valley residents have been so generous in the past and we THANK YOU in advance for your kindness and donations this season.
Have a wonderful holiday season!
