Neighborhood Watch Alert

August 14 Neighborhood Watch Recent Incidents

Well, those “bad guys” are still out there! Please take a minute to review the following list of recent incidents and remind ourselves to keep taking those actions that help keep our homes and families safe:

  • July 22, 2013 5:30 am – Vehicle Burglary 6100 Block of Mia Vista Dr
  • July 26, 2013 2:58 am – Shots 4600 Block Sleepy Hollow Dr
  • July 29 2013 9:35 am – Grand Larceny 3500 Block of E Hidden Valley Dr
  • August 1, 2013 11:10 pm – Residential Burglary 2800 Block Parkway Dr
  • August 2, 2013 11:35 pm – Alcohol Violations 5400 Block N Scarsdale Cir
  • August 3, 2013 11:03 am – Public Assist/Service 4700 Block Parkway Dr

As usual, we do NOT have details for these listed incidents, which can be frustrating, yet just knowing what is happening can be most valuable for us. PLEASE use this information as a reminder to be ever watchful and observant to all strange or suspicious behaviors in your neighborhoods and REPORT all such situations to the Washoe County Sheriff’s office (WCSO). Obviously, use 911 if it is an emergency, but otherwise, use 832-4110 for non-emergency reports.

Another IMPORTANT reminder of watching & observing: the annual Hidden Valley Garage Sale is happening this weekend. This is a fun-filled and good event but please be aware that some “shoppers” are only out to shop for future “shopping” incidents. In some past years, there has been an increase in criminal activity following the garage sale. It could be coincidental or not – but – be alert and be aware what people are doing and looking at/for.

So, let’s do our part:

  • “LOCK UP” – both our homes and our vehicles
  • WATCH & OBSERVE – we are valuable eyes and ears for the WCSO
  • REPORT – Call in all cases of suspicious activities – we are helping our law enforcement officers help us
