Construction and Survey Activities taking place at Hidden Valley Regional Park
Members of the Hidden Valley community may have noticed some construction and surveying activities taking place at Hidden Valley Regional Park over the past few months.
As many in the community know, the South Truckee Meadows Wastewater Reclamation Facility (STMWRF) is located close to the park and the Washoe County Engineering Division is exploring locations, including Hidden Valley Regional Park, to potentially distribute treated effluent water from this facility. There are still a wide variety of tests that need to be performed to determine whether the park could be a good location for the distribution of effluent water and each phase of testing will only continue if the outcomes of the previous tests are positive.
If the park is identified as a good location, effluent water could potentially be used to support future park amenities, such a wetlands trail area. Any park amenities or effluent distribution concepts would be brought to the Hidden Valley community for discussion, review and input. In total, the testing and public input process would likely take a couple of years.
Additional updates will be provided as testing continues, but in the meantime, if you would like more information or have any questions, please reach out to Sophia Kirschenman, Park Planner, at 775-328-3623 or email@example.com.
