On December 8, 2013, the long-awaited dedication of the Hidden Valley Fire Station was held. The firemen who will staff the station were on hand, along with Truckee Meadows Fire District Chief Moore. We were also honored to have many volunteers from other parts of the Truckee Meadows in attendance to help us celebrate.
Officials in attendance, besides Fire Chief Moore, were County Commissioner Breternitz, County Commissioner Bob Larkin, County Commissioner David Humke, County Manager Katy Simon.
At the request of the president of the Homeowners Association, Marge Frandsen, the ribbon was cut by two of the community members who helped build the station originally – Paul Lee and Angie McCuskey. Stories were shared about how many rocks were moved and how much cement was poured. It was certainly great to have folks who not only remembered the manual labor involved but were here to enjoy the occasion.
