Washoe County Sheriff November Newsletter

While cyber shoppers are hoping for great deals this holiday season, it is also an important time to be aware of the risks of shopping online. Take a moment to review a few cyber shopping tips from our Cyber Crimes Unit. We want to make sure your holiday season is safe and merry while shopping, traveling and when you are at home, so we have provided you with additional tips on what you can do to protect yourself during the holiday season. We are still in need of donations for our annual Christmas on the Corridor event, making Christmas a little brighter for children and seniors who live in Reno’s 4th, 5th and 6th street “corridors.”  After completing nearly 700 hours of intensive training to become Nevada peace officers, we are proud to announce that 36 recruits graduated from the Northern Nevada Law Enforcement Academy this month. KTVN just launched a new segment called “Safety Watch Q & A” featuring subject matter experts from the Sheriff’s Office! And Deputy Ziggy Terelek receives the Sparks Rotary Law Enforcement Award.
