All HVHA members and interested residents are encouraged to attend.
At the September 15, 2016 meeting of HVHA, to be held at Hidden Valley Elementary School, the board will look at three topics of importance to HVHA going forward:
- A need for more active participation from Hidden Valley residents and for new volunteers to sit on the Board of Directors, chair or serve on committees such as the annual Picnic, Membership, Welcome Wagon, Newsletter Editing, Easter Egg hunt, Neighborhood Watch/Disaster Preparedness, Christmas Lights, Dessert Social and others;
- A discussion among attendees and board members as to how HVHA serves the community, whether things can/need be improved, whether the change from print to digital newsletter format remains useful, and other related items of interest to attendees.
- Consideration of all input and discussion of plans for HVHA going forward.
These three topics are timely for discussion due to our shrinking pool of activists and volunteers, perhaps related to the absence of a large pressing issue (e.g. S.E. Connector) impinging on our community. Other volunteer groups in the area are experiencing similar fall off in participation.
HVHA has also recently lost board members and committee chairpersons who must be replaced in order for the business of the organization to continue in an orderly fashion.
