Vehicle burglaries are rapidly becoming one of the most common, yet preventable crimes in northern Nevada. Take ConTRoL! With four simple steps you can greatly reduce your chance of being a victim. In light of recent events, the Sheriff’s Office has been asked by parents to provide them with safety tips and guidance on how to keep their children safe at school and at home. Review 10 steps you can do today to keep your children safer. Back to School – with school starting earlier we are asking drivers to slow down and be on the alert for children walking to school. Nevada Joining Forces grant provided new radar guns to the Sheriff’s Office, encouraging drivers to stay safe and drive within the speed limits. The Sheriff’s Office was recently featured on the reality show “Jail;” find out more. Residents have another opportunity to microchip their pets for free. Regional Animal Services will have a microchip clinic at the Summit Mall during our inaugural Sheriff’s Office K9 Run on Saturday, September 28th.
